The iconic Dando “shell and auger” rigs use an incredibly straightforward technique to drill in soft to medium conditions.

A manual clutch-operated free fall winch is used to drill, run casing and bail. The Dando 2000 and it’s larger sibling the 3000 can be seen on countless sites across Britain conducting for U4 sampling and SPT.This simple yet very effective approach is not only used for site investigation work. These modifications have been carefully designed to complement the reliable, versatile nature of the tried and tested Dando shell and auger rigs.

The Dando 2000 & 3000 “MK 2” have the following additional features:

• New, more powerful clutch - Gives the driller a more responsive “snappy” feel
• Improved winch guarding
• Electric mast raising system - For faster, safer raising of the rig
• Increased engine silencing
• Composite, maintenance free crown sheave with a new sheave material allowing for longer life without the need for maintenance or greasing
• Emergency stop button
• Non-slip brake pedal
