Terrier Rotary used for munitions clearance
As part of ongoing product development and refinement, Dando are continually looking for new opportunities to deploy existing equipment in new sectors.

An example of this can be seen with the use of the Terrier Rotary by Fellows International Ltd. A machine is being used by the small West Sussex, UK based firm to undertake sub-surface munitions surveys on construction sites prior even to the Geotechnical investigation contractors arriving on site.
After a non-invasive survey to 6m depth to ensure a clear and safe drilling, Mike Fellows and his team use the powerful rotary unit with a specially prepared hollow-stem auger drill string, to install plastic liner to depths of up to 6m. A magnetometer tool is then lowered to allow the ground to be surveyed to a further 6m depth. The self containment and size of the Terrier drilling machine enables Fellows to survey and, if necessary, clear any ordinance faster, cheaper and more safely than any other method that they have yet to try.
As city centres in Britain experience a development boom, effective search and disposal of WW2 ordinance in cities such as Liverpool and East London is becoming increasingly important.
