The iconic Dando shell and auger rig uses an incredibly straightforward technique to drill in soft to medium conditions; a manual clutch-operated free fall winch is used to drill, run casing and bail.
The Dando 2000 and it’s larger sibling the 3000 can be seen on countless sites across Britain conducting for U4 sampling and SPT.This simple yet very effective approach is not only used for site investigation work. Dando shell and auger equipment has been successfully used for water well drilling in certain conditions.

Optional hydraulic rotary attachment can be supplied for coring and rotary drilling. Also including removable mud guards and overrun braking mechanism incorperating towing eye and parking brake lever. An independant electrically operated winch with remote cable control is fitted on the sampson post so that the derrick legs can be raised and lowered safely.
