Dando have for many years built custom rotary heads for over-water geotechnics and exploration. This market has been extremely active in the first part of 2010 with the Dando 1000 Powerswivel showing to be extremely popular with the exploration operations based in SE Asia.

The Dando 1000 powerswivel can hang 40,000kgf and, depending on motors, offer up to 20,000kNm of Torque.

Fugro Marine's Singapore branch, Fugro South East Asia Geotechnics, recently sent us some photos a 1000 powerswivel as they have mounted it in the Derrick of a geotechnical exploration vessel.

This is just one of four units supplied to Singapore since the start of 2010.
